The oldest of the Fates, One is responsible not only for Zenith, but for her sisters as well. Of the three, she is the the hardest on herself and on their role as Fates of Zenith. She adheres to the rules set by their Mother of Heaven to a tee and never admits to making a mistake. She strives hard to do what is right for Zenith and to understand what the Mother of Heaven wants of her.

The second oldest, Two is the peacemaker between her sisters and strives to please both One and Three. Often, she is caught between the bickering of her sisters. She is clumsy, a little slow at times, and tends to tire herself with worry.

The youngest of the Fates, Three is the one most prone to human emotions. She feels responsible for the happiness of her human wards and strives to understand them. She constantly challenges One's decisions to do what she feel is right for her Zenithian charges – even if it goes against the rules set by their Mother of Heaven.

Isolde is the forgotten Fate. Forgotten by all, but never by her sisters. She was the second to the youngest of the Fates and closest to Three, who takes after her. Of all the Fates, she was the first to truly comprehend what the Mother of Heaven had in mind for them and fully make the transition from great and mighty Fate to simply a great and self-giving person.

She represents different things to each sister. To One, she represents the follies of human emotions, especially the bane of all emotions called love. To Two, she represents their failure as Fates of Zenith. To Three, she represents something Three strives to become and understand, but doesn't believe she will ever be. Human. But to all sisters, she is a stark and painful realization of their mortality. She is the frightening reminder that nothing is absolute, least of all, them.
